What we will learn next:

Letter W – Willie Weasel

Handwriting Letter – N

Writing – Labeling our stories

Reading – 3 ways to read a book (read pictures, read words, retell the story)

Science:  Outer Space

Math:  Teen Numbers, Counting past 20

Do you know any other children that will be registering for Kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year?  KDG informational parent meeting will be at Stoney Creek on April 29 at 6:30pm (ELL/Spanish presentation will be at 6pm)

Our Readiness Kindergarten families are not required to attend this event.  Your child will be automatically enrolled in a Kindergarten classroom for next school year!

To return reading sheets for prizes is this Thursday, March 28^th!

Writer’s Workshop

During our writing time – we have begun trying to sound out words and label our drawings.  We all are excellent at hearing that first sound and putting down at least the letter that we hear.

If your child is doing any writing or drawing at home – encourage them to add labels to their work!  This is a Kindergarten skill that they will be working on next year as well!

Read a Story to Us!

To celebrate March Is Reading Month – we are inviting special guest readers to come to our class and read a story to us!  Hopefully, it will help us see that everyone – moms, dads, grandmas, uncles, everyone loves to read! Guest readers may bring their own book to share, or pick one from Mrs. VandenBerg’s library!  

If you – or someone else in your family – would like to come in and read us a story – please fill out the bottom of this paper and return to school ASAP!  (all readers need to be on our approved volunteer list!)
