Math
We are still practicing starting at the number 10 and continuing to count on to 20.  Good news - we have all mastered ABAB patterning!!

Science
We did a lot of work with magnets - try to do some magnetic experiments at home!

Story Time
We have learned the word Author - and are learning a lot about how we are all authors during our Writer's Workshop time!

REMINDERS

Our communication folders come home on Mondays only.  Please return them by Friday.

It's getting cold outside!  Students will continue to go outside for recess through the winter.  Please remember hats and gloves for them - and remind your student to leave these things on and take care of them when they come inside.  We already have a big pile of gloves that no one seems to think is their own!

We even go outside in the snow - so be prepared!  The only time we stay inside is if it's raining or if the wind chill is below zero.

Have a great weekend!!

Moving to Stoney Creek

Dear Families,

I would like to help explain some of the things that are going to be happening these next three weeks as our classroom gets packed up and ready to move over to Stoney Creek.  There have been several questions and concerns regarding the green letter that came home in backpacks yesterday.

Yes - this move does apply to our Readiness Kindergarten room along with the Kindergarten classrooms.  Our classroom at Stoney Creek is not one of the 6 newly built rooms - but we will still have access to the break out area and new media center that were described in the letter home.  Even though our room is not one of the special new rooms, it will be new to us and we will make it our own!

I ask for your patience and understanding as you visit our Greenridge classroom from here to the end of December.  In efforts to be able to spend as much time with my family as possible during the holiday season, I am already beginning to pack up and hope to have as much of our classroom as I can moved over by the end of the month.  I am sure that we will be so wrapped up in Holiday activities during the day that our kiddos will barely notice!

I hope you can all plan on attending the Open House planned for us on Tuesday, December 18th from 6-7pm at Stoney Creek.  This is a great opportunity to tour the building and see where your child will be attending school in January.

Also - I'm in desperate need for packing boxes!!  If anyone has any empty boxes big enough for packing, (diaper boxes work great!!) I'd love to have them!
