What we did last week:

Monday:  We were introduced to the letter Cc – Catina Cat!  Ask us what sound she makes!

Tuesday:  Today we started learning about bears.  We read some nonfiction books and learned that some bears like to live in caves!

Wednesday:  Today we went to see Peter and the Wolf and wrote about our favorite part!   

Thursday: We have been learning about the number 7 – help us count out 7 objects at home!

Friday:  We ate fish, honey, and berries like bears!  The kids loooved it!  

What we will learn next:

v  Letter H – Honey Horse
v  Handwriting Letter – J
v  Science:  Bears

School Closings and Delays

When the weather is bad, please check the TV for school closings.  Our school district is Comstock Park Public Schools in Kent County.  There is another school named just “Comstock” in Kalamazoo county.  Be sure you’re looking for the “Park” at the end so it’s the right school!


Box Top Competition ends this Friday – Jan. 31st  - please send them in to school!

What we did last week:

Monday:  We were introduced to the letter Ii – Inny Inchworm!  Ask us what sound he makes!

Tuesday:  Today talked more about Penguins, and how they use their body fat to keep them safe from cold weather and water.  We put our hands in a blubber bag and decided if it felt warmer in cold water than our hand without it!

Wednesday:  Today we wrote in our journals about the warm cozy clothes we put on to go outside in the winter.  

Thursday: We played an ice melting game in science.

Friday:  Today we had a great time working on the letter I and number 6, and then we had popcorn for a fun Friday snack!

Introducing Ms. Bales:
Hi, my name is Katie Bales and I will be helping out in your child’s classroom this semester. Currently, I am completing my teacher assisting and working towards a degree in Elementary Education at Grand Valley University. In the classroom, I will be helping out with daily activities and gaining hands-on experience that will help mold my teaching career. I look forward to getting to know your children and helping them succeed throughout the next few months!
