Week One = Complete!

Whew -- what a whirlwind week!

We had an excellent start to our year - I am so lucky to have such a great group of kids to share it with!

Our week was filled with fun community building activities and introductions to our core areas.  We decorated and started our Writer's Notebooks, talked about how to choose "Good Fit" books for ourselves, and we even started learning a few cursive letters!

Today your child came home with a bazillion papers -- many of which are important and need to be filled out and returned to me!  I'm working on developing a more effective way to get this information home to you (and back to me when needed!) so look for an update on that in the Communication Folder - which will be coming home on Monday.

One thing that was missing from your kiddos backpack today is the cursive practice I meant to sent home -- oops!  Please assure your child that it is my fault that I forgot to pass it out and they should enjoy this last weekend of no homework - because it's full speed ahead from here on out!

Give your third grader an extra big hug this weekend -- each and every one of them made their teacher's first week of third grade a breeze!!
